I'll start this review by saying this: Shame on ME for never listening to Hank Williams III before now. He's been making music for years and I've never so much as looked on Youtube for him? What's wrong with me? With that said, on with the review. I can't help but compare Hank III with his grandfather, Hank Sr. I'm sure anyone who knows his music has done this over and over but since he's new to me, I'll do it. What can I say? Track 1, "I'm a Long Gone Daddy", is exactly what a country song should be, in my eyes. Someone leaves. Nuff said. Hank even gives listeners his own version of the classic Willie/Waylon song, "A Good Hearted Woman". A good version at that. It's different. It's fast. It'll make you tap your toes or even better, dance. It's easily my favorite track. Maybe because I already know the song, but not everyone can make someone else's song their own. Looks like I'll be buying more Hank III stuff after this. And if you don't own any, you should buy some yourself.
