![]() In Remission are a group of gentlemen from Bedfordshire, England. Made up of Daniel Lillie, Vocals, Tom Norman - Guitar, Rodney Smith - Guitar, Dan Reeves - Bass and Tom Edwards - Drums, their sound is best described as pop/ progressive rock with great melodies and catchy riffs. They are definitely radio friendly and the vocals are great. Their 6 track EP has a lot to offer from great harmonies, pretty awesome break downs and a bit of shredding guitars The band reminds me of Kings of Leon and Paramore, that is, if Paramore was fronted by a dude.
The EP opens up with "Fractions" which is in your face from the start. The first thing I noticed was it was really audible, the production of the EP is killer. They did a great job mixing, mastering and putting together a quality product. The song that stood out to me was track number four "Floodlights." It has the heavy stop and start guitar and drums as well as some shredding...the vocals are soaring throughout the whole song. I really enjoyed how they put together chunky instrumentals with clean vocals. Over all each track is very solid and well composed, easy to listen to from start to finish.
Their EP - The Great & Shallow is available for download this month (June 16th) from Amazon.com or you can hear it on their Facebook. It seems like these guys are finding some success in their part of the world. It wont be too long before they are knocking at the US door. So if you are into pop/punk/progressive rock music definitely do yourself a favor and go over to their Facebook to listen for yourself.
