[Click on each photo for band slideshow] The FM99 Lunatic Luau 12 - The Resurrection - tore through Farm Bureau Live Amphitheater in Virginia Beach on Friday, May 4, 2012. Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Halestorm and Art Of Dying killed it on the main stage. Between sets, P.O.D., Adelita's Way, Revery and local battle of the bands winner Os76 kept things rocking on the side stage over the hill. The result was a continuous sonic assault that lasted over 7 hours. The sound and lighting was perfect, and the weather held, with a brilliant lightning storm beginning just as Shinedown closed it out with mega-hit 'Second Chance'. The large crowd put their all into every performance. You never know what to expect in a festival situation, since every fan comes for their favorites, but each act went over very well, even when playing their newest songs. The main stage acts in particular got bigger and better as the night wore on, each band getting more time and more stage to work with. Shinedown blazed through a set including 5 new songs off 'Amaryllis' mixed in with plenty of their classics. Both Shinedown and 5FDP brought the house down when they went acoustic for 'Simple Man' and 'Remember Everything'. Otherwise, the entire day was filled with intense, aggressive music that surely satisfied everyone who was there.
