| REYKA VODKA TO SEND TWO U.S. BANDS AND FOUR SUPERFANS
TO ICELAND AIRWAVES FESTIVAL THIS FALL
Final Week For Bands To Enter The Contest
NEW YORK – July 26, 2012 – Dirty Projectors, Of Monsters and Men, Sigur Rós and 70+ others are each confirmed to play the acclaimed Iceland Airwaves music festival, running October 31 – November 4, 2012. “The hippest long weekend on the annual music-festival calendar,” according to Rolling Stone; since 1999, Iceland Airwaves has quickly become one of the world’s most revered and celebrated cutting edge music festivals.
For the second year in a row Reyka Vodka, the first vodka ever distilled in Iceland, is giving up-and-coming American bands their chance to take a spot onstage through their “ Breakthrough at Airwaves” contest. Bands have until August 1 st to submit their tracks to www.Reyka.com. Two bands, selected by the festival will win a weeklong trip to Reykjavik including travel and lodging, and get to perform alongside some of the most exciting and inspired names in music.
In 2011, YACHT, Caged Animals and Young Magic each were selected for the program and, in addition to sharing their music with an international audience, were taken on a hometown tour of Iceland courtesy of Reyka; Reykjavik, Blue Lagoon, and the Golden Circle were just some of the natural wonders the group experienced firsthand providing a glimpse inside this unique island that has spawned a truly distinct creative culture.
“We were blown away,” commented the members of YACHT. “It's a completely surreal, abstract concept to arrive in a country where two tectonic plates meet senselessly in the middle of a frigid ocean and the landscape bears the gnarled volcanic scars of their perpetual conflicts--and then realize that not only are there people there, but people who love music and are ready to lose their minds with you. It felt like visiting another planet.”
By simply uploading one original track, photos and a biography/website link to the official Reyka Vodka website, any U.S.-based artist or band can formally enter the competition. Iceland Airwaves will review and judge all eligible entries submitted.
The contest will close August 1st, 2012, with the winning bands to be announced August 14th, 2012.
“Reyka is an important proponent and advocate of Icelandic culture, and a supporter of the independent music scene,” said Grimur Atlason, Festival Manager of Iceland Airwaves. “It’s this investment and commitment that makes them ideal partners for Iceland Airwaves. We’re so pleased to have them involved for a second year, and excited to see the talent that will join our incredible line up!”

| We’ve moved into the digital music era, but multimedia albums have neglected to make the transition into this new era as easily as singles. Technology has evolved to create opportunities never before possible, such as interacting with artists in a live setting. Ideas move fast, and it makes sense an artist would be at the heart of new, innovative and forward-thinking ideas that resonate. Grammy-winning, iconic guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee SLASHhas introduced two new music apps which celebrate a return to the full-length album, allowing fans to access his signature sound and push the boundaries of how music is released.
SLASH’s new album APOCALYPTIC LOVE moves into the interactive age and is now available as a multimedia app for users of Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod devices. SLASH has partnered with MATIvision to bring fans theSLASH360 app. The SLASH360 brings you into the studio with SLASH and his bandmates Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass). “We recorded this album live, as we played it,” explainsSLASH. “The app captures the energy of the band in the best way and MATIvision allows fans to experience the album just as if they were in the room with us.” MATIvision is the world’s first multi-camera 360-degree interactivemusic application. The SLASH360 app allows fans to follow every moment of the band performing APOCALYPTIC LOVE in its entirety through the eyes of six 360-degree spherical, panoramic cameras. SLASH360 is a music first. Never before have fans been able to control their experience while listening to the album at the same time. SLASH and MATIvision have taken the information that used to be limited to a CD booklet and turned it into a unique fan experience.
There are two versions of the SLASH360 app. The introductory version includes the #1 Active Rock hit “You’re A Lie” with lyrics and extras ($.99).

NEW ALBUM THE STORY OF LIGHT WILL BE RELEASED AUGUST 14TH
12 ORIGINAL RECORDINGS CONTINUE A CONCEPTUAL NARRATIVE ARC STARTED ON VAI'S ACCLAIMED REAL ILLUSIONS: REFLECTIONS ALBUM
Virtuoso guitarist and visionary composer
Steve Vai will be releasing The Story of Light on August 14th. The album, which will be released on Vai's own Favored Nations Entertainment, contains 12 new songs, including the track "John The Revelator," which just received a premiere on Rollingstone.com.
Vai's rendition of the gospel call-and-response standard features vocals from The Voice finalist Beverly McClellan. The version, says Vai, was inspired by the 1930 recording by Blind Willie Johnson.
"I heard Blind Willie Johnson's version and it oozed with mojo," Vai says. "I was overwhelmed with the compunction to add some voodoo hot sauce to it."
The Story of Light is a sprawling and expressive 12-song set that continues a conceptual and cosmic narrative arc that began with the artist's most recent studio release, 2005's acclaimed Real Illusions: Reflections.
Although The Story of Light is largely instrumental, the album does feature guest vocalists including singer-songwriter Aimee Mann-dueting with Vai on "No More Amsterdam," which she also co-wrote. Other highlights include the title track (which opens the album), "Gravity Storm," "The Moon and I," and "Velorum."
The Story of Light is available for online pre-sale orders, including a special pre-sale selection of bundled packages, on www.Vai.com.

A vital part of rock history - Judas Priest have spent 4 decades writing classic songs and putting on spectacular live shows. During this period, the band has sold in excess of 30 million albums, and played to countless millions of fans across the globe. In 1982, they released their eighth studio album SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE, containing their hugely successful You’ve Got Another Thing Coming, the single which proved that metal could get mainstream radio airplay in the US – leading the way for a whole generation of new metal bands.
To celebrate the 30 year anniversary of this epic release, Judas Priest present you with SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE – SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, containing not only the re-mastered original album plus bonus tracks, but also a live DVD from the 1983 US Festival show, filmed in San Bernadino CA on 29th May 1983.
The US Festival was intended to be a celebration of evolving technologies; a marriage of music, computers, television and people - organized by Steve Wozniak formerly of Apple Computer.
The SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE – SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION Live DVD was filmed at the second, and what turned out to be last, US Festival in 1983. The Sunday was the Heavy Metal Day -"It was the day new wave died and rock n' roll took over". It set the single-day concert attendance record for the US with an estimated 375,000 people.
Judas Priest have this to say about this memorable day in metal history:
‘On the day that we performed, we flew in by helicopter - and the first sight we saw was that of thousands of abandoned cars piled up around the crests of the hills that surrounded the festival arena, which as we went over took our breath away. For there below us, spread throughout hundreds of acres was a massive crowd – over three hundred thousand strong! The summer heat was raging and combined with the hot Santa Ana winds made for a scorching metal furnace on stage.’

BIO: Since 1974, Judas Priest has been one of heavy metal’s most successful bands, issuing such all-time classic albums as BRITISH STEEL in 1980, SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE in 1982, DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH in 1984 and PAINKILLER in 1990 and such arena-rocking anthems as Breaking the Law, Living After Midnight, and You’ve Got Another Thing Coming. However, Priest’s influence goes far beyond their music - they were the first metal band to embrace the ‘leather and studs look’, a fashion that has since become synonymous with the musical genre. Additionally, Rob Halford’s powerful four-and-a-half octave vocal range and the twin guitar harmonies of Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing have been emulated by countless metal bands in Priest’s wake.
