| Many hardworking bands in the Baltimore area have risen and fallen, but there are only a few who have persevered through all. One particular such band is Silvertung. This band has accomplished a great deal during its tenure. Playing all the well known clubs in Baltimore ranging from Ottobar, to Sinix, to Rams Head Live, Silvertung always puts on a quality show and is a band that knows how to interact with its audience. Silvertung has had many line-up changes through its career; however, the band has, to date, found its niche with founding member and lead vocalist Steve "Speed" Atkinson, bassist Skoot and drummer Danno. They're one of the few bands that have meticulously switched from playing a desired cover song to one of their originals with the audience demanding more originals. Having released their album The Pawn, tracks like "Slow Me Down," "Lies" and "I Am" have all become staples in Silvertung's set. Recently, Silvertung has added new material, including "It's Never Too Late," and "Déjà Vu." The band has the honor of being the only band to play every Rock for Sarah show in its eight year tenure. The last few years have also proved to be great for the band, with their having gained the sponsorship of Jagermeister and having opened up the Mayhem Festival in 2011. The band has shared the stage with many national acts, including Kix, The Vince Neil Band, Charm City Devils, Drowning Poll and Pop Evil. Also, the band recently opened up for Nonpoint at the House of Rock, where they welcomed new guitarist Zack "ZZ" Zegar, thus opening a new chapter in their career. Keep a look out, because it looks like the Silvertung train is far from slowing down!

| When Shockwave started printing again back in 2007, we were adopted into a family of bands and friends at a cool venue called Sinix (formerly Macs the Club). The club was just changing over, and Frank would begin to let us rebuild our brand there. We will be forever grateful to him and the bands that played our shows, despite our inexperience. Ghost of War was one of those bands who allowed us to use their notoriety to gain validation.
Since then, Ghost of War has become a full-fledged local (and beyond) Metal icon band — the band that not only has put in the time, but has the talent to be considered as an opener for nationally touring bands. If that weren't enough, Ronnie Peterson, Thane Farace, Jim Mathis and Gary Daniels also are there to assist with benefit shows that help others. This band is all about the music, but they are also down to earth and genuine. They are sponsored by Jagermeister and others because they know talent when they see it, but again, at the end of the day, it's about the music.
They've opened up for or shared the stage with Joey Belladonna from Anthrax, Geoff Tate, Ratt, and Randy Jackson, and they perform with Neil Turban and their project Bloodied Angels, as well as Ronny Munroe from Metal Church for a project at this year's Voices of Metal. I'm told that they are also working on some other "big things," but the lovely Jenn Faraci would not reveal any more. I guess we'll have to wait. With that being said, I highly recommend that you check out their new disc, called Only Death Is Real, or go to www.ghostofwararmy.com to see what everyone else already knows about the band...

| I think George Carlin said it best: "Don't just teach your children to read. Teach them to question what they read. Teach them to question everything." One thing that I have learned from my association with REBEL INC. is to do exactly that, QUESTION EVERYTHING. Albert Einstein said, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." And REBEL INC. never has. They hold their ideals proudly in their journey to uncover truth, stand up for what is right, and speak out against what is wrong. Let's examine the band more closely. What is a rebel? Albert Camus said, "A rebel is a man who says no." The Urban Dictionary says, "A rebel is a person who stands up for their own personal opinions despite what anyone else says. A true rebel stands up for what they believe is right, not against what's right." Adam, vocalist for REBEL INC., states, "We determined the name of the band after Kevin (Sychta, Guitar/Vox) and I had already wrote a lot of the material. The underlying tone of our music at the time was anti-oppression, anti-corruption, accountability, and conquering fear. The name REBEL INC. was a tongue-in-cheek concept of the paradox that rebellion, liberty, and/or revolution can be hijacked and incorporated, then sold to the general public." REBEL INC. says NO loudly and proudly as they blaze their own trail of success filled with personal sacrifices. "We've all lost friends, family, jobs, lovers, put ourselves into difficult financial situations, and have gone through a lot of fights with each other as a band, to get to where we are now. We scrape the bottom to survive, but have never felt so alive. REBEL INC. isn't just band, it's a lifestyle. It goes 24/7/365. We've also had our tour van, as well as our trailer, stolen from us, but we refuse to give in. This music and message is greater than ourselves, and at the end of the day, and all the hard times, we know we are all on the same side. We moved away from the people we love most to make this thing happen. That is not easy for people who believe in family and friends."
Consider some of the amazing tings REBEL INC. has accomplished. They performed LIVE on one of the biggest shock jock radio shows in the nation with Bubba the Love Sponge. Jim Florentine of VH1 Classic's THAT METAL SHOW named their new album "Soundtrack To The Revolution" and the #1 Metal Album of 2012 (beating out Stone Sour, Gojira, Fear Factory, and ZZ Top). The band played for the 20th Anniversary of Seattles' Hempfest (with over 110,000 people in attendance), as well as numerous other events in Nashville, Atlanta, NYC, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida. The band has been tirelessly touring 22 states INDEPENDENTLY for four years, opening for Seether, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Fuel, COLD, Anti-Flag, hed PE, Otep, and Kottonmouth Kings, and their music is playing on more than 45 stations in the USA, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Their first album is available on Pandora Radio, which will soon to be joined by the new album, Soundtrack To The Revolution.
REBEL INC. is bringing "the truth" with their charismatic, high-energy, cadence-driven shows. "We the people," should question everything, get more involved, and, as George Carlin said, "May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house."
"Soundtrack To The Revolution" is now available on https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/rebel-inc./id314064880 or you can visit their online store http://rebelincmusic.com/store.

| The Charm City Devils Take On Doomsday

Charm City Devils' singer John Allen and his bandmates – guitarists Vic Karrera and Nick Kay, bassist Anthony Arambula and
drummer Jason Heiser – sit in a van enroute to North Carolina under "clear blue skies" where they will open for Theory of a Deadman the same evening. With a yawn, Allen groggily recalls the night before in Silver Spring, Md., where CCD and TOAD entertained a capacity audience at the Fillmore. He admits, "It was a pleasure to play in our home state and in such a nice venue."
Of course, with the looming apocalypse on Dec. 21, the frontman reckons each day is a blessing and to "have fun and cherish every moment," stock up on your favorite libation, and head to your final destination rather than blindly float in space after the geomagnetic reversal!
"If I didn't have to gig, I would roll down to the Bahamas or somewhere in the Caribbean and relax on a white sand beach with my lady. Oh, and drink Captain Morgan Private Stock on the beach."
However, no such luck for the frontman, as the Devils play in Covington, Ky. – just across the murky Ohio River from Cincinnati – on Doomsday. Not exactly pristine beaches with sifting warm sand under your bare feet and a calming surf, but Allen doesn't mind, as long as his final moments are face-to-face with an audience. For him, the "End of Days" is just another day at the office.
"Making a connection to other people is a real benefit of the job, if you can call it a real job. As long as we get to play in front of new people at every stop and turn them on, it's just awesome."
With a few weeks remaining before the Mayan prognostication, the band plans to continue its tour in support of the current release, Sins, as well as the next single and video, "Unstoppable." The WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) already claimed the balls-out tune for its "No Way Out Official Theme Song 2012," and the song climbs the music charts, even in the face of adversity...and it's not the kind the Mesoamericans expect the world will experience on Dec. 21. According to the singer, it's far worse than that for the Charm City Devils!
"We're clawing and scratching our way up the charts, and all the big Christmas releases are coming out. All the big boys are stomping on us: Aerosmith released a single, the Rolling Stones released one...who's next? Is Led Zeppelin putting out a record at Christmas? We move up one spot and somebody like Soundgarden releases and knocks us down. I mean come on, give some to the little guys," Allen laughs.
